In this issue we want to explore Australia. While half-a-world away, you can escape the cold and damp of winter in the North and embrace summer again by traveling there. The people are friendly. The exchange rates are favorable. And there are plenty of places were you can get away from it all!
One of the most pleasant ways to travel in Australia is by train. The rhythmic rumble of the rails provides a soothing backdrop to the beautiful country as it rolls by. Riding the rails gives you time to meet people, appreciate the country side, and to slow down the hectic pace in which travelers may find themselves. If you like fine, wonderfully priced wines, Australia is the place to visit. Many of the metropolitan areas have wineries a short distance away. Ask your friends in the know about wines if they have tried any of the Aussie wines. We'll bet they have only nice things to says.

Over your next three-day weekend, focus your travel expertise at home. Research local food/entertainment, recreational areas, and lodging and take a trip closer to home. If nothing else, you will have ideas for friends who come to visit.
